Starting therapy often comes with questions, especially if you are already carrying a lot or wondering whether your experience is “enough” to ask for help. At Compass Counseling and Wellness, we offer online therapy for teens ages 12 and older, adults, couples, and families who are navigating chronic illness, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship stress, and major life changes. The answers below can help you understand what we offer and what to expect when you reach out.
At Compass Counseling and Wellness, we understand that emotional pain is often connected to the realities of your life, your body, your relationships, and the changes you never expected to face. We do not treat you like a diagnosis or a checklist.
Our work is personal, thoughtful, and collaborative. We especially understand how chronic illness, invisible illness, medical trauma, grief, and identity changes can affect your mental health, relationships, sense of self, and hope for the future.
We help clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, chronic illness, invisible illness, medical stress, relationship concerns, family conflict, life transitions, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
You may come to therapy knowing exactly what you want to work on, or you may only know that life feels harder than it should. Either way, we can begin by helping you make sense of what you are carrying and what kind of support would feel most helpful.
We work with teens ages 12 and older, adults, couples, and families navigating emotional stress, health-related challenges, family strain, communication issues, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and more.
When you reach out, we can talk through who is seeking therapy and what you are hoping support will help with, so we can connect you with the right clinician.
We offer online therapy for residents of Florida and Oregon. This allows you to receive support from a comfortable, private space without needing to travel to an office.
Online therapy can be especially helpful if transportation, distance, mobility, scheduling, or a busy day-to-day life would make in-person appointments difficult.
We tailor therapy to your specific needs, goals, and life circumstances. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we draw from a range of therapeutic methods to help you understand what you are experiencing, process what feels unresolved, and build practical tools for moving forward.
Our work may include EMDR, IFS, CBT, ACT, somatic therapy, Gottman Method, trauma-informed therapy, grief work, mindfulness-based tools, nervous system support, and insight-oriented therapy. We use these approaches thoughtfully, based on what fits you and what will best support your healing, relationships, and growth.
Yes. Living with chronic illness, invisible illness, medical trauma, or ongoing health concerns can affect your emotional health, relationships, energy, identity, and sense of control. Even when other people do not fully understand what you are carrying, your experience deserves to be taken seriously.
In therapy, we can make space for the grief, frustration, fear, exhaustion, and adjustment that may come with illness. We can also work on boundaries, self-advocacy, relationship stress, and finding ways to care for yourself in a life that may look different than you expected.

Yes, we offer an initial consultation so you can ask questions, share what you are looking for, and get a sense of whether our practice may be the right fit.
This is also a good time to talk about online therapy, scheduling, fees, and which clinician may be best suited to your needs.
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, and we also welcome private-pay clients. Many people choose private pay because it gives them more privacy, flexibility, and control over their care.
Private pay allows therapy to be guided by your needs and goals rather than insurance requirements, diagnosis codes, or session limits. When you reach out, we can talk through your options and help you understand what may work best for you.

No. Therapy does not have to last forever. Some clients come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term therapy for deeper patterns, trauma, illness adjustment, grief, or relationship concerns.
We can talk openly about your goals, your progress, and what kind of support feels useful over time. The goal is to help therapy serve your life, not become something you feel stuck in.
